Marathi Actor Nilu Phule Dead
The 79 year old, Nilu Phule who was Versatile Marathi film and stage personality died on Today 13th July, 2009 in city hospital after a long battle with cancer. Nilu was suffering from cancer of the oesophagus. And he was admitted in the hospital on 5th July, 2009. Nilu was great actor of Marathi Movies so everyone will remember him and his acting.
Nilu Phule is survived by his wife and a daughter. He had acted in approximately 130 films, including some Hindi movies, and a number of Marathi plays. Marathi film industry got its most celebrated villain in Nilu with his debut film 'Ek Gav Bara Bhangdi'. He was acted in many films, but his role in 'Saamna', 'Pinjra'', “Sinhasan" was acclaimed by audiences.
He was started his career in theater with a famous act in "Katha Aklechya Kandyachi", a folk play. His bollywood films include “Saransh”, “Coolie”, “'Vo Saat Din','Naram Garam','Malmasala”, “Bhayanak”, “So din Saas Ke”. Phule was also known for his social activism. He has left an indelible mark on Marathi stage. He was very hard worker because he worked very hard for encourage the interests of folk artistes in various branches of the traditional art forms.
