Danny Boyle won the Oscar for best director
The 81 Academy Awards were celebrated last night with the glitter and glamor that Hollywood terms. Danny Boyle received an Oscar awards for best director beat his film "Slumdog Millionaire" in Los Angeles. Boyle's film "Slumdog Millionaire" was based on the pain and misery in the impoverished parts, living in slums in India. He set his story in a Bombay slum area.
Boyle's film was praised in the west. And his movies were earned more than $ 100 million. He had also won seven British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards, four Golden Globes. Boyle took the award for best director the annual Directors Guild of America (DGA).
After receiving the award Boyle said that he is truly grateful for his family and his wife. Boyle have already won BAFTA and Golden Globe and will be a popular winner of the Academy Awards. Boyle was almost a priest instead of a movie-maker. Boyle, 52, has produced some of the most memorable British films of recent times, including Trainspotting and 28 Days Later.
