Alfred Henry Kissinger, 56 U.S. Secretary of State, 1973-1977, a position to preserve presidential assistant for national security committee, which he assumes the first in 1969 to 1975. After leaving government service, he founded Kissinger Associates, an international consulting firm, which he is chairman.

From 1954 to 1971, he was a member of the faculty at Harvard University and the State Department and the Center for International Affairs. He was assistant director of the Center 1957-1960. He served as research team leader, nuclear weapons and foreign policy of the Council on Foreign Relations 1955-1956, director of Special Studies Project Rockefeller Brothers Fund, 1956-1958, director of the Harvard International Seminar 1951-1971, director of the Harvard Defense Studies Program 1958-1971. (He was on leave from Harvard from January 1969 to January 1971).

Secretary Kissinger wrote several books and articles on U.S. foreign policy, international affairs, and diplomatic history.
