Is Bo a rescued Dog or not?  The Bo is a Rescued Dog for Obama. Obama welcome to his first pet - A Six Month old Portuguese water dog that the Obama girls are naming Bo. Obama's daughters were choose black and white pup. Bo is a Rescue Dog . Bo is a gift to the Obamas' daughters, Malia and Sasha, from the Kennedys.

Barack Obama and his wife Michelle said in the presidential campaign as they had promised their two girls a dog after the election. And they repeatedly said they wanted it to be a rescued dog, for example, one from a shelter.

Bo was given up by his first owner as a poor place and now is with second Owner Obamas. But he is never spent time in a shelter or rescue group, Bo is a "quasi-rescue dog. Bo first owner lives in Washington. Bo's breeder happens to have bred Sen. Edward Kennedy's Portuguese water dogs. Before moving into the White House, the pup spent nearly a month with Kennedy "dog trainer in Virginia.

Bo returned to breed early in March, the spring assembly timeline for Obama had given the dog adoption. Kennedy and his wife Victoria helped Bo line with Obama.

Obama and Michalle Starting their search with shelter dogs. But the Kennedys Kennedy learned of the dog and offered it as a gift to the girls, they met the Dog. It was the perfect solution for their lifestyle and for Malia's health concerns.

The Human Society's Pacelle said that Obama never flat-out promised to get a dog from a pound or rescue group.  Bo's breeder, Martha Stern of Boyd, Texas, says she does not seem to live in a rescued dog. Portuguese water dogs are not for everyone. They tend to be high-energy "in-your-face 'dogs that need a lot of attention, and France coat requires little maintenance.

Stern said she did not interview Obama before allowing them adopt Bo. She said that the First Family has a lot of research and already knew the breed's pros and cons, and Victoria Kennedy was involved.Bo seemed like a good fit because the Obamas are an active family and have the resources to give him the training and other things he needs.
