Actress Jennifer Garner has led to reports of planning to ring in the New Year with a new baby when you check into a hospital in California on New Year's day.

The star is nine months pregnant with her second child, and she and her husband Ben Affleck was set to go into Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 31 December 2008.

Garner was reluctant to disclose that she was expected to she was five months pregnant, but her mother moved in law and his former colleagues Alias star Victor Garber let the baby news slip in July.
