Officer stops ambulance for traffic violation, Oklahoma (Video)

Oklahoma City: Angry officer stops ambulance with patient inside

It is unbelievable to hear that an angry officer stop the ambulance with the patient inside it, just as the driver did not follow the traffic rules at Oklahoma City. The patient’s son has recorded the video of whole thing on his cell phone camera that happened on Monday while ambulance was stopped by angry officer.

Maurice White was the supervisor of that ambulance, which was taking an old age woman to the hospital for treatment with her family members. The ambulance was just stopped by the officer as ambulance had no emergency light and the sirens. It was a strange situation to observe. Police officers have certain things they can legally do but they should understand when the patient is inside the ambulance.

The first priority of the officer is to get them away as soon as he knows that the patient is inside the ambulance. It is true that the person is responsible for not having emergency light and sirens but the officer should asked the reason for it quietly rather than be angry.

The video shows that Maurice White repeatedly telling Martin who is the officer that he has a patient in the back and wants to go to the hospital. Then Martin tells White to get back into the ambulance and says he wants to talk to the driver. Another policeman arrived at that time and allowed ambulance to continue to hospital where the patient was given treatment and released later. The local district public prosecutor examines the case and refuse to file charges against either Martin or White. The nature of Martin is very angry as he came recently from military service in the Middle East.

The should not have stop,

The should not have stop, because they had a patient in the back. If the officer felt it was so important to talk to the drive he would have followed them.
I feel he had a disregard for the need of the patient and have allowed his ture nature (race) show up since he went to war and it's over riding responsibility as a police officer!!!

I work in this field also.

I work in this field also. The first priority should have been to get the patient to the hospital safely and quickly! Once the officer stopped them and made them aware, calmly, that their lights were not on he then should have just warned them and let them be on their way. Just another case of an officer pumped up and out of control on his personal ego power trip. Ridiculous!!!!

Well there you go. Cocky cops

Well there you go. Cocky cops think they're special.Nothing more then a bunch of thugs. Who needs them.

This was ridiculous and the

This was ridiculous and the officer should be suspended and issue an apology to the family.

They were all ignorant. The

They were all ignorant. The officer should have asked why the lights weren't on and when told they had a patient he should have followed them to the hospital. The EMS worker never should have gotten out of the back or challenged the officer. All three of them displayed a complete lack of regard for their whole purpose, to serve, protect, assist and put the general well being of citzens FIRST.

i'm a law enforcement officer

i'm a law enforcement officer my self, the state trooper is way out of line, the trooper should have backed of and followed the bus to the hospital and deal with the situation there. They should at the very least suspend him.

This is about the life of

This is about the life of somebody trying to get to the hospital not to find responsibility of staying inside the ambulance or doing a ticket. The police officer attitude was negligent and mean, without respect for the community. There job is about safety and respect, shame on you super police officer

I'm sorry but this the

I'm sorry but this the craziest thing I ever seen. That trooper was OUT OF ORDER, as soon as he heard that there was a patient in the vehicle, he should have allowed them to move on. Gave them a escort to the hosptial, and them gave them a warning, ticket or whatver the violation is for failing to yield. I think that the trooper was looking to show that he had the authority. He has some major anger issues. He defintely abused his authority.

That officer is so stupid,

That officer is so stupid, yeah ok so The EMT driver did something wrong. The EMT stated that they had a patient that needed to get to the hospital he also told him that he could arrest them once they got the woman to the hospital. There was no reason for the officer to flip out on them. This crap always happens now adays where some police officers feel that they have more power and that they are right all the time. I am glad that there is authority figures to keep things in order yet I believe many of those figures take things too far and go beyond what is necessary. This officer had a bad freakin attitude and I think they should fire is stupid ass.

That police officers should

That police officers should be fired. If the women in the ambulance would have died, what would the police officer say. I'm sorry, he should have pull over.

It shouldn't matter if the

It shouldn't matter if the police officer was just getting back from a war situation. He should have never pulled over the ambulance. He should be either fired or something put in his file about how he treated fellow city workers. The women in the back could have died while this dimwitted cop was pulling the ambulance over. This should not be left alone. The Distrist Prosecutor should do something for the women and her family.

Not true - the EMS worker is

Not true - the EMS worker is never allowed to leave the inside of the ambulance with a patient. He will likely loose his certification since HE is responsible for the patient care and the issue was with the driver, not him. He should of let the Officer handle the situation as quickly as possible, issue the citation and would be on their way. If it was an emergency, then why weren't the lights and siren active anyway? If anyone died, it would have been the responsibility of the EMS employee, not the Officer -he just wanted to stand up and challenge the authority of the Police.

"..HE is responsible for the

"..HE is responsible for the patient care.."

Yes, he is responsible, so he was wondering why the h*** the ambulance was being stopped when it needed to continue to the hospital where he needed his patient to be! I would have freaked out and jumped outside too, feeling the need to let the officer know a patient is inside and they have to keep moving.

That officer's attitude was way out of line.. he needs counseling.
