The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation or AMC was starting from July 1950 under the Bombay Provincial Corporation Act, 1949. AMC is responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of the Ahmadabad city, AMC works as per the section 63 and 66 of Bombay Provincial Corporation Act. The Corporation is controlled by a Municipal Commissioner and IAS officer appointed by the State government.For the development purpose city are divided into 5 Zones likes... central, east, north, west and south. Each Zones divided in 9 wards,but in south zone only 7 wards, and in each wards 3 corporaters work under the Mayor.
