Tamilnadu 6th Pay Commission Details

The TamilNadu Government has announced huge salary increment for its Employees and pensioners in line with the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission. The Sixth Pay Commission has come out with its recent report and recommendations. This decision for implementation was taken on Saturday evening.

Tamilnadu 6th Pay Commission Details

The Salary increments will range between Rs.1774 and Rs.7300 per month from office assistant to deputy collector.

According to the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, About 12 lakh TamilNadu Government employees will receive 30% Trek in salaries.

TamilNadu State Finance Secretary K. Gnanadesikan told the modified pay scales will be implemented with instant result and employees will receive the modified pay next month.

The Pay Scale trek is predictable to spurt up the government's a yearly expenditure by Rs.5,155.79 crore, as the first cost would be around Rs.11,093 crore.

The 6th Pay commission arrears would be calculated with effective from Jan 1st 2006 onwards. Indian Govt passed the sixth pay commission report on 15th Aug last year. It was decide to pass the sixth pay commission for Tamilnadu state on 31st May, 2009.

The State government said "The total payment will be paid in installments between the current financial year and 2011,"
As a Part of the accepting the long pending request of pensioners, employees and family pensioners, the offered Medical grants has been modified from Rs 50 to Rs 100 per month.

Currently Rs. 21,000 crore has been incurred by government for salaries and pensioners. After the Modified pay it will be Rs. 26,155.79 crore. For More info about govt. of Tamilnadu So Click Here.

Key features of the sixth pay commission

  • Annual increment is set at 3% as previous.
  • The grade pays remainder the same as in Govt of India.
  • Dearness grant will also remain same as in the modified Pay Structure issued by Govt of India.
  • The slab rates for HRA & CCA are doubled in the latest sixth pay commission in TN.
  • All the grants have been doubled as per the Tamilnadu pay commission.
  • Daily allowances have also been doubled in the Tamilnadu sixth pay commission.
  • The pension has also been customized just like the Govt of India in the sixth pay commission announcement.
  • Minimum pension has been customized from Rs 1,913 to Rs 3,050 under the Tamilnadu Sixth Pay commission structure.

Does any one know the current rule regarding the pension recipient having to travel? They (my parents) have to present themselves in person annually at the DPI to continue to receive their pension. If they have to travel during that time, can they do this formal procedure before departure so that their travel plan is not affected. Seems to be correct. Still there is no clarity regarding incentive increments. If you calculate cumulatively,ie. adding increments one by one ( 3% + 3% + 3% + 3% ), the basic will come to 16480.

I was appointed secondary grade teacher on 20.03.1998. Basic pay was fixed on 1.1.2006 as Rs.5500. Selection grade was fixed on 20.03.2008 – 5750+125 pp. From 20.03.2008 the scale of pay is 5300- 150 – 8300.
1. If I choose the option of getting new scale of salary from 20.03.2008 I will be getting 15690.
2. If I choose 1.1.2006 I will be getting 14860.
Which option shall I choose? If I choose the first one then I will have to return three months benefits, that is, Rs. 41757 – interim benefit. Kindly suggest.

Selection & Special grades:

Selection & Special grades: Those who are moved to Selection & Special grade prior to 01-01-2006 will get higher grade pay corresponding to the selection & special grade old scales.

But after implemetation of 6PC, while moving to selection / special grades only one increment will be given and no increase in grade pay.( grade pay will be given only for ordinary grade )

Consider the case of BTs & Pmy school Hms.
Those who are moved to Special grade
prior to 01-01-2006 will get Rs 5400 as grade pay

Those who are moved to Special grade
after 01-01-2006 will get Rs 4600 as grade pay.

This will create lot of pay disparity ( Rs 800.00 difference without any reason )

If you are opting to fix 6pc

If you are opting to fix 6pc scale as on 01-07-2007 ( after fixing selection grade scale in old scale), you will get RS 4300 AS GRADE PAY and loose arrears upto that period.

If you are opting to fix as on 01-01-2006, you will get Rs 2800 only as grade pay and ger arrears for full period ie. from Jan 2007. In Sixth pay commission, you will not get increased grade pay for selection grade / only one increment will be given

Both the the option to be worked out to find which one is best.

You are having every rights to give option to fix salary on any particular date within 01-01-2006 & 31-05-2009. You ask to fix on 05-12-2006 ( after fixing selection grade scale 5300-150-8300).

8. Option :--
(1) A Government employee may exercise option to remain in the existing scale of pay until the date on which he earns his next or any subsequent increments in the existing scale of pay or until he vacates his post or ceases to draw pay in that pay scale ;

Option form to be filled as follows

I, xxxxxxxx… holding the post of . SG asst, Sel Grade.
in the scale of Rs 5300-150-8300. do hereby elect to retain the existing scale of pay and rate of dearness allowance for the period upto 04-12-2006 and come under the revised scale with effect from 05-12-2006

In this case your basic + PP as on 05-12-2006 ( Sel grade pay )to be multiplied with 1.86 + Grade pay 4300

If your AEEO Office refuses, ask for explaination in writing with a copy to DEEO, for such refusal with quoting the relevent G.O ref.

If you opt to come under the revised scale of pay w.e.f 01.01.2006, you will get grade pay Rs 4600.00 + PB2. & If you opt to come under revised pay w.e.f 28.01.2008 ( Spl grade date), you will get grade of pay of 5400.00 + PB3.

Those who are not happy with

Those who are not happy with the payscale can come out of the Govt. jobs. so that those who are in real need can get the jobs.
Already both state an central govts are going on paying heavily to the employees. They are not given enough training according to the technological advancement and there is no updation in the knowledge, and skill development. Only the salaries are hiked. The public has to wait hours and hours to get documents, certificates from the govt offices. Why?
Already on each one head the govts have brought loans from the world bank. Nobody bothers about it.
Ther are so many MCAs, MBAs, BSc computer science have registered in the Govt employment and waiting. Call them they will do the work excellently in the same salary what the junior assistants and assitants doing. Becoz the present employees are not able to opreate the computers but te office is having the data in the computer. and there is only one operator, who is hided by heaps of files and papers. If you are a human being with conscience think over it.

Only the so called educated

Only the so called educated people alone will have this kind of thinking. Take the case of consturction workers: Now a mason demands Rs.450/-per day where as their association fixes it as Rs.,400/-.So a labourer wants to exploit the demand of labour. you go around the entire city' u cannot get a mason for less than that amount.But the educated would come to serve at a lesser wage in contrast to the present employee. Who prevents these MCA, MBAs from joining governemnt service. Let them come and serve efficiently. But using computer alone will not bring efficiency; there are other factors like adherence of rules, application of mind , and keeping an uniform policy. But one thing i should say that who ever does the government job they should deliver goods with honesty-Jeeva.

Consider the case of AEEOs working in Ely. Educational department. Their scale is 5900-200-9900 with Grade pay of 4500. But for office superindents, who are working under AEEOs, Scale fixed as 7000-225 + Grade pay of 4800. Here after the So called AEEOs ( Inspection officers for about 400 - 500 teachers ) may be required to report to office supdts with SSLC qualification ?. Will the govt administrated by IAS intelligents consider this case.

It is verymuch sad to know that government has not considered rising cost of rent and other cost of living in the urban areas.The H.R.A. & C.C.A SHOULD BE INCREASED to alleviate the sufferings of the middle class people.
So the GOVERNMENT SHOULD INCREASE THE H.R.A. &C.C.A.
AND SHOULD RELEASE ENTIRE ARREARS IN LUMPSUM TO enable them to meet the educational expenses.

It is a clear injustice for P. G. Teachers in the Tamil Nadu Govt. service. Their scales have not been raised and especially those who are working in the pay scale of 6500 -- 250 -- 10500 did not get any benefits while the Central ghovt. has taken adequate meassures to rectify this fault the Tamil Nadu Govt. is cheating the lakhsof teacher community.

central government increased pay scales of SG,BT and PG teachers ,for example for sg teachers 4500-125- scale was enhanced to 6500-200-10500 and grade pay fixed at corresponding revised level.State PC committee has not done anything like that.Simply a bunch of IAS officers have fooled lakhs of teachers and assistants

Tamil nadu Government is

Tamil nadu Government is neither run by its I.A.S officers nor by
its higher officals.The real work of govt is being done by its junior assistants and assistants.But they got very poor salary
compared to other officals.They got Rs2000 and Rs2400 as grade pay in 6th pay commission.They have been suppressed by workload and poor salary.No govt(karunanidhi and jayalalitha)have taken measures sofar to solve this problem.We are not happy with the 6th pay commission.We are not foolish to accept 6th pay commission implementation is a milestone in the history of tamilnadu govt.
