Mad Men Season 2 Episode Spoilers and Reviews :-

Season 2, which premiered Sunday, July 28, picks up roughly eighteen months from where the first season ended, on Valentines Day, 1962. It's clear from the first few moments that the world has changed - especially in terms of advertising, as, when in an episode from seasone one, Draper stared in awe at a "clever" ad for the new Volkswagen Bug. To add insult to Draper's feelings of displacement, he's given orders to hire younger ad men in the hopes to reach a growing youth market. As series creator Matthew Weiner notes at the end of the premiere, this season will focus on how the advertising world in the 1960s will evolve at a breakneck pace, and how some of the Sterling Cooper ad men will soon be engulfed and left behind because of this sea change.

Meanwhile, the personal lives of men and women at Sterling Cooper come closer to the forefront of the season two as Draper seeks to develop a more stable family life with his wife secretly depressed, Betty (January Jones), with less of stellar results so far. However, what could be more interesting the story arc this season is the turbulent home life of "happily married" man, Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser), as it struggles with the typical newlywed problems and their feelings by Peggy Olsen. Similarly, the character Olsen has already shown flashes of becoming a hard-nosed women in a sexist world of men, although in the wrong way.

While the show still has its flaws barely perceptible - such as those mentioned problems with sensationalism, or the little condescending lessons on the history of advertising sprinkled throughout the episodes - is easily the most well-acted and well-written show on television cable today. The first season of Mad Men firmly established as the buzz show of 2007, and this season should easily vault that must-see status.
