On April 26, 2009, Backlash 2009 , which is the 11th event under the Backlash banner ,was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment -WWE, which took place at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

There are three WWE brands are Raw, SmackDown, and ECW from featured talent .There were seven matches scheduled on the event's card. Wrestlers is going to portray either a villain or a hero as they follow a series of events that build tension, and culminate into a wrestling series of matches.

Last Man Standing: - John Cena vs. Edge -wins.
ECW Championship Singles: - Jack Swagger vs. Christian -wins,Christian def. Jack Swagger by pin following the Killswitch to win the ECW Title.
I Quit - Jeff Hardy -wins vs. Matt Hardy
Winner Earns Title of Miss WrestleMania:- Santina Marella def. Beth Phoenix by pin after The Great Khali hit Beth Phoenix on the top of the head and pushed her down.
WWE Championship:- Legacy def. Triple H , Batista, and Shane McMahon by Randy Orton pinning Triple H following the Orton Punt; Randy Orton wins the WWE Title.
World Heavyweight Championship:- Last Man Standing Match: Edge def. John Cena to win the World Heavyweight Title.
